Heavy Rain Forecast Across Uttarakhand
The southwest monsoon has become active once again in Uttarakhand. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), rainfall is expected across most parts of the state over the coming days. A heavy rainfall warning has been issued for Dehradun, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, and Nainital districts on July 24. Thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rain are likely to continue across the state until July 29.
Recent Weather Conditions Across the State
Heavy rainfall in the hilly regions over the past day disrupted normal life in several areas, while the plains experienced relatively dry weather, providing some relief to residents. In Dehradun, the maximum temperature was recorded at 32°C, around 2°C above normal, while the minimum temperature stood at 23.5°C, which was close to the seasonal average.
Meteorologists Warn of Continued Heavy Rain
According to weather experts, the active monsoon is expected to bring heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning across the state over the next few days. Some locations may also experience extremely heavy rainfall. In the hill districts, there remains a risk of landslides, falling rocks, and road blockages due to persistent rain.
Administration Issues Public Advisory
The administration has urged residents and tourists to avoid unnecessary travel, particularly in vulnerable hilly areas, and to stay updated with the latest weather advisories. Authorities have advised people to exercise caution and follow official instructions to ensure their safety during the ongoing monsoon spell.
