He says such visits helps the media persons from states to understand Uttarakhands culture, history and development. He also says Uttarakhand has a wondering place in India and globally due to its rich traditions, folk culture and Himalayan heritage.
Religious Tourism is Still
The Chief Minister talks about the states major pilgrimage sites like Char Dham and Panch Kedar. He says these sites attract millions of devotees and travelers every year. These sites are central to Uttarakhands identity and tourism economy. Dhami credits Prime Minister Narendra Modis government for making tourism a part of Uttarakhands economic strategy. He says the government is promoting types of tourism like adventure tourism and eco-tourism. Better amenities connectivity and infrastructure have helped increase tourist numbers.
The Prime Ministers visit to Adi Kailash helped make it an international destination and boosted tourism in the area. Dhami says over 250 million tourists and pilgrims have visited Uttarakhand in the four years.
Push for Tourism All Year Round
The Chief Minister says his government wants Uttarakhand to be a destination for visitors all year round. He talks about the Winter Yatra initiative, which has increased pilgrimage activity during winter. The goal is to make Uttarakhand a destination for visitors throughout the year.
