Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay and his Karnataka counterpart D.K. Shivakumar are likely to have a meeting on August 3 in Bengaluru. The meeting is meant to deal with the growing Cauvery water-sharing disagreement between the two states. It will also focus on the Mekedatu balancing reservoir project that Tamil Nadu has long opposed.
How the Meeting Came About
According to people who know the situation Vijay wrote to Shivakumar a week ago. He wanted to meet and asked for a time. Shivakumar responded by saying he would meet on August 3.
