Indian cinema has lost one of its most respected actors. Pradeep Rawat passed away on Tuesday evening at the age of 74 after a battle with cancer. He was widely known for his performances in films and television shows such as Ghajini, Lagaan, Sarfarosh and the iconic TV series Mahabharat.

Lost His Second Battle with Cancer
Pradeep Rawat had successfully overcome cancer four years ago. However the disease returned six weeks ago. He had been hospitalized for the month while undergoing treatment. According to reports his platelet count suddenly. Despite the doctors efforts he could not be saved.
Last Rites to Be Held on Wednesday
Rawats family and manager have announced that his last rites will be performed on Wednesday. His mortal remains will be kept at his residence in Goregaon, Mumbai from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM allowing members of the film fraternity and fans to pay their respects.
A Remarkable Acting Career
Pradeep Rawat began his acting career with B.R. Chopras legendary television series Mahabharat, where he portrayed Ashwatthama. He later established himself as an actor in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and several other Indian-language films.
Some of his memorable performances include:

- The menacing villain in Ghajini
- Powerful roles in Sarfarosh, The Hero: Love Story of a Spy, Meri Jung, Chhaava and several other films
