Rishab Shetty, who is an actor and a director has said that work on the part of the Kantara series called Kantara: Chapter 2 has already started. This is even though he is very busy with acting projects. People are still celebrating how well the last Kantara movie did. It made the storys universe, which is based on mythology and culture even bigger.
Writing Underway Despite a Packed Schedule
Rishab Shetty talked about how much he loves directing and how it makes him happy. He said he cannot stop directing for a little while because it gives him peace. He explained that his team is already working on the script for the Kantara movie. They are doing this while he is also working on projects.
At the time Rishab Shetty said he does not want to act in many movies at the same time. This is because each role requires him to look different. He said his next acting projects are Jai Hanuman, which is directed by Prasanth Varma and The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He needs to look different for each of these movies so he cannot film them at the time.
What Is The Kantara Series About
The Kantara series started with a movie in 2022 that became very popular. It was based on stories from Karnatakas folklore and spiritual traditions. Rishab Shetty then made a prequel called Kantara: Chapter 1 which came out in 2025 and did well at the box office.
Kantara: Chapter 1 is about a king who wants to conquer a land that has a lot of spices. The people who live there the Kantara tribe, are peaceful. When the king attacks them divine spirits help the tribe defeat him. The story then follows the kings son, who becomes a ruler and his own son, who starts to act like his grandfather. This causes trouble between the family and the tribe again. The movie has a cast, including Rishab Shetty, Jayaram and Rukmini Vasanth.
A Filmmaker Who Won’t Rush the Story
Rishab Shetty has said before that he does not want to make another Kantara movie just because people want him to. He wants to make sure the story is worth telling. He does not want to repeat himself. Will only make another movie if he finds something new and meaningful to say.
