Major Administrative Move in Uttarakhand: CM Dhami Directs Officials to Resolve Public Complaints or Face Action

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has issued a strong message to the state administration, warning officials that disciplinary action would be taken against those who fail to resolve public grievances registered on the CM Helpline 1905 in a timely manner. The directive came during a review meeting at the Secretariat on Thursday.

Presenting a progress report during the meeting, officials informed the Chief Minister that the CM Helpline 1905 received a total of 67,843 complaints between April 18 and July 28, 2026, of which only 20,461 had been fully resolved. Dhami expressed displeasure at the pace of resolution and said the helpline was meant to be an effective medium for the quick redressal of people’s problems, adding that no negligence or apathy would be tolerated in resolving complaints, and accountability would be ensured at every level.

Officials who have failed to act on pending complaints have reportedly been directed to submit explanations, with disciplinary action to follow if their responses are found unsatisfactory.

The Chief Minister is understood to have expressed particular concern over the backlog of complaints related to the Drinking Water Department and the Jal Jeevan Mission, directing the concerned departments to expedite pending cases and provide timely relief to affected residents.

Dhami said strengthening the CM Helpline system remains a government priority, aimed at ensuring people are not forced to make repeated rounds of government offices to get their problems resolved. He said he continues to personally monitor the helpline’s performance and progress.

The Chief Minister’s directive is being seen as a step toward strengthening administrative accountability and public service delivery, coming at a time when the state government is looking to signal that public grievances will be treated as a top priority in the run-up to the next assembly election.
